Key Responsivities 


  • Carry out risk assessments and consider how risks could be reduced 
    • Review, implement and maintain SOP’s which identify and take into account all relevant hazards 
    • Carry out regular site inspections throughout the UK hotel and venue network to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented 
  • Ensure working practices are safe and comply with legislation 
  • Maintain the health and safety policy 
  • Prepare health and safety strategies and develop internal policy 
    • Work with the Technical Operations Director, Europe and the HR Director, EMEA to deliver in house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks 
  • Ensure all legal compliance training is completed relevant to the business and positions 
  • Liaise with the hotel and venues H&S departments where necessary 
  • Keep records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements 
  • Carry out investigations on all incidents, near misses and accidents 
  • Record all incidents, near misses and accidents and produce statistics for managers 
    • Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the industry 
  • Attend appropriate health and safety related seminars and read professional journals 
  • Produce management reports 
  • Work closely with the Rigging Department to ensure all equipment is safe for us 
    • Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and working at height 
  • Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time. 




  • At least 3 years in a similar level role 
  • NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety 
  • Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health 
  • City & Guilds Level 5 (NVQ) Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice 
  • Experience in the event industry preferrable  
  • Good communication skills 
  • Good organisational skills, able to manage under pressure  
  • Attention to detail 
  • Good time keeping
